Lolita was taken from Penn Cove as a baby, 45 years ago on August 8th. Derik Nelson & Family will perform their song "Lolita" as part of the commemoration event.

Program Featuring: John Hargrove, author of "Beneath the Surface," "Of Orcas and Men" author David Neiwert, and Freeland author Sandra Pollard, "Puget Sound Whales for Sale."

Howard Garrett of Orca Network will give an update on efforts to bring Lolita home to her family in Washington State, including news of Lolita’s recently being included as part of the endangered Southern Resident Orcas.

Special musical guests the Derik Nelson Family Band, featuring their lovely Lolita Song and video, filmed on Penn Cove.

The evening will include food, educational displays and a silent auction, and wine and beer will be available for purchase. The evening event is $25/person.
